Pioneer and strong advocate of software-as-a-service (SaaS), Samoun founded Qualys in 1999. As its CEO he managed record growth and established it as a market leader in on demand vulnerability assessment. Samoun has been CEO of Mediapath, Solsoft and Fotopedia. He started his career leading the growth of Verity in Europe.
Samoun serves as independent director on the board of Agiliance, Criteo, Realease and Jolicloud. He holds a degree in Physics from Orsay University, and a Masters in Computer Science from Paris Jussieu University.
With more than 15 years IT industry experience, David is a UK chartered accountant with in-depth experience managing software companies. In addition to having held senior international finance positions at 3 US software companies, prior to joining NTRglobal, he was responsible for global software operations at Sun Microsystems Inc. He holds an honours degree in Business Law.
Prior to NTR Global, he was VP Sales and Business Development at Exaprotect (acquired by Loglogic) where he successfully launched a French based software security company in United States, South America and ASIA.
As Director of Business Development at Safenet, he worked on security integration with strategic partners focused in the Government, Financial and Health Care industries.
He served six years in the United States Navy as a Cryptographic Technician onboard submarines and holds multiple degrees, including an Executive MBA in Finance and Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Rutgers University and Associate of Science degree in Electronics Technology from Gavilian College.
Before joining NTRglobal, he founded Bryte, a company focused on bringing natural language to websites. Under his direction, Bryte became a strong partner and distributor of NTRglobal products at the company’s inception. His continuous collaboration and involvement with NTRglobal eventually brought him inside the company itself.
He also served as director of Bit-IC, one of the largest Dutch technology enterprises, taking part in the first wave of Internet success in the Netherlands. In addition he was a vice president at Cap Gemini, where he created DareStep, a Web agency devoted to the creation of large Web portals with a strong focus on usability.
As VP of customer operations, he joined NTRglobal with a successful 12 year track record of optimizing operations, strategy and service delivery to customers and partners at international technology and software-as-a-service companies.
Before joining NTRglobal in 2004, he served as General Manager of Fertig Consulting GmbH, responsible for the CRM market in the main German office for Maximizer Software - which had more then 1 million users. His responsibilities were Key Account Management and Product Management serving customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland such as Siemens, Bank of New York and Schroders.
